More Shopping In Bohol

Island City Mall Dao District Tagbilaran City Bohol Philippines shopping malls centers Philippine islands

In the Philippines, when you think of shopping, probably the first thing that come to mind is Manila and Cebu, with both cities having all those huge malls scattered all over both metropolitan areas.

Over the years, theres been a steady growth of visitors and tourists in the province Bohol and to accomodate the growing population and visitors and giving them choices and more variety, new shopping centers in Bohol were developed. Some of the popular original shopping centers include Alturas Supermarket and Bohol Quality or BQ Mall. Both shopping centers remains strong and favorite among the locals. With the continued growth of the province as one of the must-visit place in the Philippines, more shopping centers or malls have risen to new locations in Bohol like Marcella in Cogon District and Island City Mall in Dao District. These malls are big, busy, and crowded enough in comparison to some of the metropolitan giant malls in both Manila and Cebu like Shoe Mart (SM) and Robinsons Galleria.

In Bohol, you have the bests of sight-seeing, foods, and shopping! With all three combined, that is definitely what you call a vacation.

Chocolate Hills Steps And Walk Trails

In the past, several years ago, the only way to go up to the  Chocolate Hills Complex upper observation deck is to take the 200+ steps. Climbing the steep inclined steps is definitely one of the most memorable area and thing to do in the complex. To reach the upper end of the almost endless stairs and reach the upper observation deck is quite rewarding, being able to see the chocolate hills view with no view distrations like trees and buildings. You can see the hills in 360 degrees viewing angle from there.

The climbing part can get really tiring but there are rest stop balconies along the way, so you have a some aread to catch your breath, relax, and enjoy the view in different parts of the hill.

Several years ago its hard to imagine any other way to get to the observation deck but the existing stairs. Thats why its impressive when the Chocolate Hills management added the zigzag pattern walking trails on the side of the mountain that you can used as an alternative route to go up and down both to and from the observation deck. The cemented walk trail looks like its always been there since the begining but for many years, its always just the steps to climb up and down from/to the observation deck.

Thank you for visiting Bohol Beauty blog today and enjoying the pictures. Read more about Chocolate Hills.

Fun Photos With Chocolate Hills

Ive been to Chocolate Hills several times in the past. During my last visit there, it was my first time that I was able to play with my digital camera a little bit and create some photo tricks with the chocolate hills. The first photograph above didnt came out very good, but its the hill in the palm of my hand...

This is one of my favorite that i took, touching the hill on top.

Nowadays, there are local photographers in the Chocolate Hills Complex vicinity that you can hire to take photographs of you and your friends doing all kinds of fun photo shots with the hills, which definitely makes your visit there more memorable because you have all these fun photographs to bring home with you. You can show of the pictures to some people who never been there and keep them guessing how in the world did you just fly, hug or walk in the hill...

An Afternoon At Bohol Beach Club

Since I was very young, Ive heard of Bohol Beach Club (BBC) several times but I never really got the opportunity to visit the resort. I always heard great feedback about the place, everyone who been there said that its a really neat beach resort to go to. There is an entrance fee per head because its a private resort, so I didnt have that chance to really go there, until recently.

I went with some of my family. It was a last minute decision that we made, so we arrived there so late in the afternoon, probably around 4 - 4:30 pm which is a complete bumper because with the entrance fee that we paid, we only get to see the resort for few hours and it was getting dark already by the minute. We only had few hours of daylight left but I managed to take some photographs while we were there.

The pool looks very inviting, dont you think so? It even have a waterfalls in it. But since we arrived very late during our visit there, we decided to swim in the pool after we checked out the beach! Besides, the pool is only few steps away from the beach, so its not like its a real struggle to go either way. But with the nice inviting pool and the crispy clear tropical beach on the opposite side of the pool, its wasnt an easy decision, hit the pool first or go for the beach. But with time constrainst, we cannot miss the beach or its going to get dark very soon, so thats what we did.

There's a nice restaurant in the vicinity with great variety of foods. Some of the entrance fee that we paid was partly consumable at the restaurant during our short visit there, Im not sure if its always like that any day though. There were live music at the restaurant, with some talented musicians singing some local songs and playing their music instruments. We got the chance to make some boholano song requests, so that was pretty neat.

Being in the tropics, its not a suprise to see some coconuts in the beach. But a bunch of well-situated coconut trees and white picnic tables to match is pretty cool and impressive. One of the most famous thing about Bohol Beach Club is their sand. The sand in the resort is well-taken care of, they manage to keep it clean. I personally think that the sand being well-kept, staying nice and bright with very fine texture is one of the best assets of the resort. The sand is perfect for walking barefoot in the beach.

With how short our visit was, its was definitely memorable and worth it. The views are spectacular. The landscaping is beautiful. So if you will ask me if its all worth what you paid for entrance fee, i say yes. Dont get me wrong, I like being in a public beach because you see a bunch of people enjoying the day at the beach, you are surrounded with nothing but fun fun fun. But there are times that you want privacy and solitude, and just be with nature. At Bohol Beach Club being a private beach resort, it is definitely less crowded, so you get peace, serenity, more in one with nature (almost) than with the crowd, and its more quiet, I should say, so better chance of hearing the waves instead of people talking or laughing. With the little daylight left that we had during our visit, im happy with some of the photos and the memories I got. Thank you for reading this blog today and enjoying the photographs.

NOTE: Just for everyones information, the author of this article/post is not associated in anyway with Bohol Beach Club (BBC).

Tarsiers In Bohol

Tarsiers are one of the (if not the) smallest primates in the world. And these little fellows reside in Bohol particularly around the wooded area of Loboc, Corella, and Sevilla. There are tourist destinations in Bohol where you got the chance to get up close and personal with these little ones. You can even  get your picture taken with them just as long as you keep your flash off so you wont scare them away and keep your hands off. Always remember that these are wild and not trained animals, so the rule is you can admire but dont touch. Read more about tarsiers in Bohol.
